In SIM Funded, your floor stops trailing for good at a moment called the lock. On BrightPlus it locks when your equity reaches the buffer, and it always locks at your starting balance + $100. In the Evaluation the Max Loss Limit never locks.
When it locks
Size | Starting balance | Buffer (equity that triggers the lock) | Locked floor |
$25K | $25,000 | $26,100 | $25,100 |
$50K | $50,000 | $52,100 | $50,100 |
$100K | $100,000 | $103,100 | $100,100 |
$150K | $150,000 | $154,600 | $150,100 |
The buffer is your starting balance + Max Loss Limit + $100.
After the lock, the floor never moves again. If your equity touches the locked floor, even for a moment, the account is breached.
The lock when equity reaches the buffer
When your equity reaches the buffer ($52,100 on a $50K account), the trailing floor is already exactly at $50,100, so it simply stops there. Nothing jumps.
Example: $50K account
Your floor starts at $48,000 and trails up as your equity makes new highs.
Your equity reaches $52,100, the buffer. The floor is then at $50,100.
đ The floor locks at $50,100 and never moves again, even if your equity goes higher.
Reading your dashboard
Current on your dashboard is equity minus highest point. It is $0 or a negative number. Your account breaches when Current reaches the full Max Loss Limit amount, for example â$2,000 on a $50K account.
Term | Meaning |
Floor | Highest point minus the Max Loss Limit. Touching it is a breach |
Highest point | The highest equity you reached, in real time |
Equity | Balance plus open profit or loss |
Lock | The moment the floor stops trailing for good, at start + $100 |
Frequently asked questions
Does the floor lock in the Evaluation?
No. It keeps trailing until you pass or breach.
â
Is the lock the same as the buffer?
No. The buffer ($52,100 on $50K) is the withdrawal floor for your payouts. The locked floor ($50,100) is the breach line.
â
Does my floor lock when I request a payout?
No. On BrightPlus the floor locks when your equity reaches the buffer, not when a payout is approved.
â
Can the locked floor move?
No. After the lock, it never moves again.
