When does my Max Loss Limit lock?

When and where the floor stops trailing in SIM Funded, for BrightPlus and BrightCore, with examples.

In SIM Funded, your floor stops trailing for good at a moment called the lock. It always locks at your starting balance + $100. What changes by plan is when it locks. In the Evaluation the Max Loss Limit never locks.

After the lock, the floor never moves again. If your equity touches the locked floor, even for a moment, the account is breached.

BrightCore: the lock when your first payout is approved

The floor locks at start + $100 even if it had trailed higher. This gives you more room, on purpose.

Example: $50K BrightCore

  • Your highest daily close is $55,000, so your floor is $53,000.

  • Your first payout is approved.

  • šŸ‘‰ The floor drops to $50,100 and stays there. You have more room than before.

BrightPlus: the lock when equity reaches the buffer

When your equity reaches the buffer ($52,100 on $50K), the trailing floor is already exactly at $50,100, so it simply stops there. Nothing jumps.

Example: $50K BrightPlus

  • Your floor starts at $48,000 and trails up as your equity makes new highs.

  • Your equity reaches $52,100, the buffer. The floor is then at $50,100.

  • šŸ‘‰ The floor locks at $50,100 and never moves again, even if your equity goes higher.

Reading your dashboard

Current on your dashboard is equity minus highest point. It is $0 or a negative number. Your account breaches when Current reaches the full Max Loss Limit amount, for example āˆ’$2,000 on a $50K account.

Frequently asked questions

Does the floor lock in the Evaluation?

No. It keeps trailing until you pass or breach.

Why did my floor go down on BrightCore?

Because it locked at your first approved payout, at start + $100, even if it had trailed higher. It is on purpose.

Is the lock the same as the buffer?

No. The buffer ($52,100 on $50K, BrightPlus only) is the withdrawal floor. The locked floor ($50,100) is the breach line.

Can the locked floor move?

No. After the lock, it never moves again.
