BrightCore: Max Loss Limit explained

How the floor works on BrightCore, with examples, the numbers for every size and the terms you see on the dashboard.

The Max Loss Limit (MLL) is the only loss rule on BrightCore. It is how far your account can fall below its highest point. Your floor is your highest point minus the MLL. If your live equity, including open trades, touches the floor at any moment, the account is breached right away.

How the floor moves on BrightCore: end of day trailing

Your highest point is your highest daily close. The floor moves only once a day, while the market is closed, between 4:45 PM and 5:59 PM ET. The breach check still runs all day on your live equity, including open trades.

Example: $50K account

  • You start at $50,000, so the floor is $48,000.

  • Day 1 closes at $51,200, so the floor becomes $49,200 once it updates, while the market is closed.

  • On day 2 your equity drops to $49,300 during the day. That is still OK.

  • šŸ‘‰ If your equity touches $49,200, the account is breached.

Example: open profit during the day ($50K)

  • You open a trade and your equity reaches $51,500 with open profit.

  • You close the trade and the day ends with a balance of $50,800.

  • šŸ‘‰ Your highest point is the daily close, $50,800. The floor becomes $48,800 once it updates, while the market is closed. The $51,500 reached during the day did not move it.

The lock (SIM Funded only)

In SIM Funded, the floor stops trailing for good when your first payout is approved, at your starting balance + $100. In the Evaluation it never locks. Read BrightCore: when does my Max Loss Limit lock?

Reading "Current" on your dashboard

Current = equity minus highest point. It is $0 or a negative number. Your account breaches when Current reaches the full MLL amount.

Example, $50K: your highest point is $51,200 and your equity is $50,200. Current is āˆ’$1,000. You breach when Current reaches āˆ’$2,000, which is equity $49,200.

  • Breach: live equity, including open trades, touches the floor
