Consistency Rule

How the Consistency Rule works in the Evaluation, how to calculate it and how much profit you need to pass.

The Consistency Rule applies in the Evaluation only. Your best trading day net profit divided by your total net profit must be at or below 50% on BrightPlus or 40% on BrightCore. It never fails your account. It only delays the pass.

How it works

Best trading day net profit ÷ total net profit ≤ 50% (BrightPlus) or 40% (BrightCore)

  • It uses net profit, after commissions.

  • Losing days count in the total, so losses push the percentage up.

  • A trading day is one CME session (6:00 PM to 5:00 PM ET), not a calendar day.

  • It is recalculated at the end of each trading day.

  • Exactly 50% (Plus) or 40% (Core) is OK.

  • If your total net profit is zero or negative, it shows "Not eligible" until your profit is positive.

  • There is no Consistency Rule in SIM Funded.

How much profit do I need?

Take your best day and divide it by the percentage of your plan. That is the minimum total profit you need.

Examples

BrightPlus $50K

  • Your total profit is $3,000 and your best day is $1,600. That is 53%, above 50%, so you do not pass yet.

  • 👉 When your total profit reaches $3,200, the best day is exactly 50% and you pass.

BrightCore $50K

  • Your total profit is $3,200 and your best day is $1,600. 1,600 ÷ 3,200 = 50%, above 40%, so you do not pass yet.

  • 👉 When your total profit reaches $4,000, the best day is exactly 40% and you pass.

A losing day can push you back

  • BrightCore $50K: your total is $3,000 and your best day is $1,200. That is exactly 40%, which is OK.

  • You then lose $300 in a day. Your total is $2,700 and 1,200 ÷ 2,700 = 44%.

  • ⚠️ Your account does not fail, but you need to get back to $3,000 of total profit to be at 40% again.

Rule Summary

  • Limit: 50% BrightPlus, 40% BrightCore

  • Uses: net profit after commissions

  • Where: Evaluation only

  • Breach: never, it only delays the pass
